Carlos Ortiz is a graduate student from West Virginia State University. His
perform genomics research on various crops involving nutraceuticals and
resistance to biotic and abiotic factors (arsenic, aluminum, and low pH
stress) with particular reference to capsicum spp., tomatoes, cucurbits, and
safflower. In this process, we use Drosophila and Arabidopsis models to
understand intricate interactions of various genes and networks using
higher-order sequencing and bioinformatics approaches.
