Fabricio Medina Bolivar is Professor of Plant Metabolic Engineering and Director of the Environmental Sciences and Molecular Biosciences Graduate Programs at Arkansas State University. He received his B.S. in Biology from Cayetano Heredia University (Peru) and Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from the Pennsylvania State University.
Dr. Medina-Bolivar has over 30 years of experience in plant biotechnology and is one of the world’s leading scientists using hairy
roots for the production and discovery of natural products with applications in human health. His innovative work has been granted
several patents in the United States and Europe. Dr. Medina-Bolivar is a founding member of the American Council for Medicinally Active
Plants (ACMAP) and serves as its Executive Director.
